Eric Garcia a must-keep for Barcelona

Eric Garcia has gradually been playing less and less at FC Barcelona. The Catalan defender has gone from a regular starter to Xavi's last resort in the defensive line.

Even though the side can go without him in the squad, 'Sport' have reported that the Catalan club aren't looking to get him out in the summer transfer window.

What's more, Barca are going to try and get a left-footed centre-back in for next season. At the moment, their favourite is Inigo Martinez. However, if the mentioned reinforcement comes in, it wouldn't affect Eric Garcia's situation.

It'll be the player himself's decision as to whether he wants to stay at the Camp Nou or not. At 22 years old,the Barcelona centre-back wants to get minutes and, if the situation doesn't change, he could look for a new challenge.
