The 'Young Lions' had secured the trophy in 2016 and 2017 and were targeting a third triumph when they faced Mexico on Saturday evening, with nothing to separate the two sides before the match following their 0-0 draw in the group stages.
However, it was the Central American side that dealt the first blow, opening the scoring in just the second minute of the final.
Dael Fry was unable to intercept Eduardo Aguirre's pass, allowing Roberto Alvarado to find the back of the net via the post.
Despite the early setback, Aidy Boothroyd's side rallied back and equalised just after the 30-minute mark.
Fry was able to reedem himself but firing home from close-range after Mexico's goalkeeper completely missed a long throw which had been launched into the box.
Four minutes later and it was 2-1 to England. Eddie Nketiah's quick acceleration allowed him to break away from Jorge Sanchez down the left wing, before finding Kieran Dowell to sidefoot home with a pin-point cut-back.
Mexico couldn't find a necessary equaliser to take the final to added time in the second half, handing England the trophy with a 2-1 victory.
