Jordan Pickford, 23
The Everton goalkeeper made his England bow against Germany on November 11 at Wembley and impressed, making two vital saves as he kept England's first clean sheet against Germany in 17 years.
Joe Gomez, 20
Liverpool's versatile defender made his England debut on the same day as Pickford, coming on for Phil Jones in the first-half and slotting in on the right side of a back three.
Michael Keane, 24
Keane was at Burnley when he made his England debut in a friendly against Germany back in March. The centre-back has since moved to Everton and has amassed three more caps, and is likely to add to that total in the near future.
Harry Maguire, 24
The Leicester defender made his England debut in the World Cup qualifier against Lithuania in October, and earned his second cap against Germany on Friday.
Kieran Trippier, 27
After playing second fiddle to Kyle Walker at both Tottenham and England, Trippier eventually made his England debut against France in Paris back in June. His attacking and set-piece deliveries could prove a useful tool for Southgate in Russia.
Jack Cork, 23
The Burnley midfielder was a late call-up to the squad after several withdrawals, but he came on to make his first England appearance late on against Germany at Wembley.
Nathan Redmond, 23
Redmond was a key player for the U21s for several years and was rewarded with a 27-minute cameo in the defeat to Germany back in March. He has not been called up since as his form with Southampton has dipped slightly.
James Ward-Prowse, 23
Ward-Prowse was the second Saints player to make his England bow in the friendly in Dortmund back in March, but had just eight minutes on the pitch. The midfielder also featured heavily under Southgate for the U21s.
Harry Winks, 21
Winks' debut against Lithuania in October was somewhat of a surprise given that he had only made 14 senior starts in his career before that game. He did not look out of place in the England midfield, and two strong performances for Tottenham against Real Madrid have strengthened his claim for a place in the World Cup squad.
Ruben Loftus-Cheek, 21
Loftus-Cheek was one of the five players to make their debut against Germany this week, and he was very impressive in midfield and produced a man-of-the-match display against the world champions.
Tammy Abraham, 20
The Swansea striker, on-loan from Chelsea, started the game against Germany and came close to scoring on two occasions, before being subbed in the second half.
