Borussia had the desire and the football throughout most parts of the match, but Eintracht showed that in football you can also achieve big things if you exploit the weaknesses of your opponent.
And Borussia's greatest weakness in Frankfurt was their own mentality. Lucien Favre's team were capable of dominating but when it was near the final whistle, they crumbled.
Therefore the game remained a draw. There was a contrast between the Witsel goal and the draw with bars and canyons of André Silva. And similarities. Similarity between passivity in Sancho's goal and the bad luck of Delaney's own goal.
Borussia took the lead very quickly, with an early goal from Axel Witsel, after two interventions from Kevin Trapp, but he failed to translate his dominance into greater superiority on the scoreboard.
Minutes passed and Eintracht recovered from the blow and started to put the pressure on a little. Just when it seemed that the game would finish 0-1, Toure arrived, enabled Sow and André Silva finished from the penalty spot to get a point for his team.
Seeing the play, it seemed impossible that nobody in Borussia Dortmund was able to cut any of the passes and it is only understood by a terrible lack of concentration. Borussia wanted the break to come, but the draw came earlier.
The script was repeated, with nuances, in the second half. Because again Borussia got ahead, but this time it was the local defence that facilitated Sancho's goal.
Because everyone stared at how Trapp masterfully repelled Guerreiro's great direct free kick. They kept watching how Witsel put his foot in and enabled a Sancho who, without opposition, put Borussia ahead again.
And again, they took a step back when time was running out. Eintracht atleast wanted to get a draw out of the game and achieved it in a very painful way for Borussia, with a goal in Delaney's own net, after he just wanted to clear the ball away from goal.
In the end, both teams came away with a point after the 2-2 draw. Borussia loses out on second place at the hands of Bayern, and are three points behind RB Leipzig. Eintracht adds to their points, with this, seven, and remain in ninth position.
