Last summer, Arsenal signed a new contract extension for one of their key players. The 23-year-old Eddie Nketiah signed a new contract with the English club until the end of the 2022-23 season.
For Nketiah, renewing has not been enough. The player admitted he is not entirely happy that his hard work in training is not reflected in Spanish coach Mikel Arteta's starting eleven, as he said at the press conference ahead of the Europa League match against Bodo Glimt.
"Everyone wants to play football. The coach has a difficult decision and it's up to me to keep working when I get the chance, on the pitch or in training, to show why I should play," said the striker.
In that sense, the Anglo-Ghanaian is confident that, as the season goes by, he will get opportunities. "It's up to me to take them. I'll keep working hard to prove I deserve more minutes; complaining never gets you anywhere," he added.
