Ecuadorian side Barcelona SC confirmed death of Justin Cornejo

Barcelona have not explained the cause of death, but some media in the country said Cornejo suffered a fall, allegedly in the shower, which caused a serious head injury. The accident took place on Monday at his home and he was rushed to the Panamericana Clinic, where he was treated by doctors.

The Ecuadorian club itself reported on Tuesday morning that the goalkeeper had been "hospitalised" since Monday and that his condition was "critical", meaning he was still alive.
