Victories over Leciester City and Arsenal were enough to launch the 'Magpies' far enough away from the drop zone going into the remaining few games to secure their top-flight status, despite then suffering consecutive losses to West Brom and Watford.
It leaves Newcastle in tenth with 41 points, eight points ahead of 18th-placed Swansea City with two games left of the season.
Reflecting on the campaign, Dummett, who has been with the club since he was a youngster, was full of praise for his Spanish head coach.
He said: "When we were in the Championship some people said we had a Premier League team and when we got in the Premier League they said we had a Championship team.
"He's done well with us. He's steadied the ship with our team. We don't ship loads of goals every game like we've maybe done in the past.
"He's been great with me and great with the other lads so hopefully we can keep him for many years to come and keep progressing."
