In her glittering career as a professional footballer, Eniola Aluko has earned 102 caps for her country, and participated in three World Cups so far, plenty more than some of the male pundits on ITV.
Aluko is no stranger to the world of punditry. She became the first female pundit to appear on Match of the Day in 2014, and she also covered both the 2016 European Championships and the 2017 Women's Euros.
However, it is her intelligent and well-researched commentary that has placed her streaks ahead of ITV's male presenting team. So much so, that Aluko was patronisingly applauded by Patrick Evra after a particularly comprehensive assessment of Costa Rica ahead of their clash with Serbia.
Yet Aluko is not the only woman to be shining in a punditry role, over at the BBC, former Arsenal captain Alex Scott has also proved to be a stellar member of the presenting team, with both women having clearly done their homework.
Both Aluko and Scott are highly educated women, the former a lawyer and the latter a journalist, but within the football world, which is dominated by men, the duo have set the bar extremely high for their male colleagues.
