Liverpool achieved victory in yet another Champions League semi-final classic at La Ceramica on Tuesday night. Once again, Luis Diaz was a standout performer in the match.
The Colombian signed for the Reds in the January transfer window and he has quickly earned his stripes in Klopp's squad. Rio Ferdinand, ex Manchester United player and now pundit, has highlighted the player's seemless integration into the Liverpool team.
"Listen, Luis Diaz, the impact he’s had at Liverpool. Especially in the forward areas, before he came we said that an injury would see the quality drop down dramatically, but he’s now vying to be in the first three", he said.
Ferdinand expressed that "he has been a breath of fresh air" and that "you can see with the ball he has the skills, he’s deceptive and he moves players".
Moreover, he compared the Colombian to a "trigger" because when he loses the ball, he reacts so quickly to get it back. Ferdinand also made a point of claiming that Diaz has been "the standout signing of the season".
