After four seasons in goal, Derby County agreed with Manchester City to loan Scott Carson, who has a great relationship with the team's other goalkeepers Ederson and Zack Steffen.
The veteran goalkeeper has not played a single minute with City, but the club considers his contribution to the team to be vital and wishes to take full advantage of his rights.
But Derby County, as the Daily Mail reports, cannot give him a free pass. City have split the payment for the goalkeeper's release into two payments of 560,000 euros: one part was paid in August, the other part is due on 31 May.
Wayne Rooney's team needs the second 560,000 euros to pay the first team players' salaries, so if he becomes a free agent he will not collect the second pile of money agreed with Pep Guardiola's team.
