Marcelo Gallardo's succesor at River Plate has been confirmed. After a monumental goodbye by 4-0 against Real Betis, they will have on their touchline a familiar face.
Bayern Munich have confirmed that reserves manager Martin Demichelis will take the place on the Argentinan side's bench. The ex-player was at the Argentinian side, and he will now be looking to bring them success as manager.
"Martin has receicved an offer to become manager of one of South America's biggest clubs. We didn't want to deny him that great opportunity, and we've agreed to mutually end his contract. However, we are sorry to see him go", Bayern's sporting director Hasan Salihamidzic said.
His replacement in Munich's academy will be Holger Seitz. Jochen Sauer gave his thoughts on him: "He has contributed to giving form and applying out philosophy of training. He knows exactly what our second team is about. We're really happy that he was up for this important task".
"I arrived in Europe as a River Plate player at Bayern, and now I'm leaving feeling the opposite as a manager. What an amazing story! I'm proud to have been a part of the Bayern family in two ways, and I'm grateful for those who made it possible and accompanied me. I leave this club with a lot of gratitude in my heart, and I now await the big task in my heart's second club", the 41 year old manager said.
