The England and Manchester City midfielder is sure that his England teammates will want to get revenge over Croatia for knocking them out of the World Cup in the summer, no matter what is said publicly.
Delph admits that for him, the Nations League fixture this Sunday carries an extra edge; as it will decide which team advances to the finals of the competition, and England are keen not to endure a repeat of their summer heartache.
Four months on from their clash in Russia, Zlatko Dalic and Croatia travel to Wembley with the aim of crushing England hopes once more. However midfielder Delph is sure that his teammates are up for the challenge.
28 year old Delph told the assembled media: "One hundred per cent, we were confident going into that game, we didn't quite get the result. We have got an opportunity to play them and put that right. We have got a lot of talent in that dressing room, if we implement the game plan we can win."

Delph also spoke of the mixed emotions that the England team experienced after the recent defeat to Croatia, explaining: "It was a high point in a lot of our careers but a massive low at the same time because we felt we should have come through that game. That is what is so amazing about football, you can never predict what is going to happen."
Yet he went on to conclude that England are more than ready to face their foes once again on Sunday.
He added: "'It's game on, it's definitely going to be a tough game but we are definitely more than capable of winning. We will have a look at them, Gareth will come in with a game plan but we have definitely got enough quality in the dressing room to win. We are very confident going into the game."
