Gibson admitted to drink-driving after crashing into stationary cars on St Patrick's Day and was recorded with a blood-alcohol level of almost three times the legal limit when stopped by police officers.
The Republic of Ireland international could be facing a potential custodial sentence, having been convicted for drink-driving and driving without due care and attention previously in 2015.
Prosecutor Rebecca Laverick said: ''The defendant was spoken to at the roadside, police officers established he was under the influence. He said he had had two drinks the night before. That didn't coincide with the manner he was presenting in, his speech was slurred and he smelled of alcohol.''
The case has been adjourned until May 25 but the midfielder's former club announced a week earlier that they had suspended the 30-year-old before terminating his contract entirely.
