Dani Olmo off to a fire start: 3 goals in 3 games

Dani Olmo joined Barcelona in August, despite the fact that many believed the club should have prioritised strengthening other departaments. Nonetheless, the signing is quickly proving to be a positive one as the player is meeting expectations following a successful EURO 2024 campaign in the summer.

The Spaniard currently has three goals in three games since signing with the Catalan club, with the last one coming against Girona in matchday five. Olmo's, was the third of the four goals scored by Barcelona in the Catalan derby, which he was able to celebrate by getting on the scoresheet - something which he has never failed to do so far.

Dani Olmo's Barcelona debut came in the game against Reyo Vallecano. Although he did not start, coming off the bench at the start of the second half was enough for him to score the winning goal at the 82nd minute, in a battle that ended 1-2 for the visitors Barca. In the following game Hansi Flick's men thrashed Real Valladolid in a 7-0 goalfest, with Olmo with a potential brace, as a goal was ruled out by VAR. 

With three goals in three games, this is the Spanish international's best ever start to a season in a new club. Before Dinamo Zagreb - club in which the player started his professional career following his time in La Masia - he only scored in only one of in his first three games, with the goal coming in the third match against Borac Imbriovec in the round of sixteenths of the Cup. 

In his start at Leipzig the task became even harder, as the 26-year-old only managed to score in his fifth competitive match for the German club. He was on target in RB Leipzig's 3-2 defeat against Borussia Dortmund. 

His fairy tail at Barcelona has only just started, but the striker is evidently happy, and the supporters will hope he is able to stretch his goalscoring streak as much as possible.
