Dani Alves gets on very well with Lionel Messi and he is always happy every time the Argentine achieves anything. He had already said that he felt that Messi winning the World Cup was fair and now, with Scaloni's side back in Argentina, Alves mentioned the number of trophies both have won. He made it clear that he is still one ahead of the PSG forward.
"Even though it may hurt some, in my case, I'm very proud of what I've achieved, I look back fondly on it and with my head held high. I'm going to suffer, but I not going to be down again. However, you're going to need me to take you out of the bottom of the well I came out of. Don't cry, baby," the full-back wrote in an Instagram post. He also included a picture which sees him with 43 trophies and Messi with 42.
Although his comments were not meant to be taken seriously, one can suspect that he is going to retire soon. At the age of 39, he has done everything in football and he currently plays for Mexican side Pumas. In recent months, that said, he was training with Barcelona's B team to keep himself fit ahead of the World Cup in Qatar.
Who does seem still a long way away from hanging up his boots is Lionel Messi. His PSG contract expires at the end of this season. The decision of whether he will stay at the Parc des Princes or not is up in the air. He also has moves to the MLS and Barca open to him. However, at the moment, he is focussed on celebrating his great achievement in Argentina with his people.
