Crystal Palace:
Roy Hodgson's men started their Premier League campaign off well against Fulham by winning 2-0 last Saturday, with goals from Jeffrey Schlupp and their talisman Wilfired Zaha. With Zaha committing his future to the club last week, he will now be able to fully concentrate on continuing his excellent form for the 'Eagles'.
There are no serious injury problems for the home side, after their manager confirmed that two players who picked up slight injuries last Saturday have recovered to full fitness.
Liverpool:
The 'Reds' could not have better lived up to the hype that was created by their summer transfer activity against West Ham, as they thrashed the 'Irons' 4-0 at Anfield to give a real statement of intent of their ambitions in the league this season.
Joel Matip has recovered from a muscle problem that he got in pre-season and is likely to start on the bench, while Dejan Lovren is still out with a pelvis injury. Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain is a long-term injury casualty.
Crystal Palace boss Roy Hodgson on Liverpool's immense attacking threat:
"You're playing against players who cost a lot of money, players who have a very strong pedigree, players whose technical ability is very good, whose physical capacity is good.
"I don't know that you can necessarily stop them for 90 minutes from getting anywhere near your goal - that might be too strong an objective."
Liverpool coach Jurgen Klopp on Palace's star man Wilfried Zaha:
"There were no spectacular signings but if you want you can see Zaha as a spectacular transfer,"
"I think they are pretty happy that Wilfried signed a new contract. He's very important and last year was probably the best example of that."
Prediction: 1-3
Did you know?:
The last Premier League meeting on a Monday between these sides was back in May 2014, where Liverpool were leading 3-0 with 12 minutes to play before Crystal Palace came back to draw 3-3.
Liverpool once beat Crystal Palace 9-0 back in the 1989-90 season, when they won the league title.
Palace have never won their opening home fixture of a Premier League season.
