Crucial day for Neymar's future

After finally wrapping up the controversial signing of Griezmann from Atlético Madrid, Barcelona will now turn their attentions to making a move for PSG star Neymar. The Brazilian is widely reported to want to rejoin the Spanish champions, and this very Monday could be a pivotal day in any such return.

'AS' have reported that Neymar will return to PSG for pre-season training today after he failed to show up when the rest of the team returned a week ago. The player and his team, however, insisted that he had been given permission for extended holiday due to charity events he was taking part in back in Brazil and said that the 15th July would be his return date.

Furthermore, as the Spanish press are reporting, the 27 year-old is set for a meeting with sporting director Leonardo today in which both will talk about their plans for the future. This will prove to be crucial in finally knowing where the Brazil star will end up playing next season.

If Neymar decides to enter in rebellion and go on strike after this meeting, the French side could treat him as they did Adrien Rabiot and Hatem Ben Arfa and freeze him out of the club.

On top of the meeting with the sporting director, the way Neymar's actions are taken by president Al-Khelaifi will be important for his future at the club. In February, the president had a disagreement with one of Neymar's agents, Pini Zahavi, over the party that the player threw for his birthday. If Neymar's relationship with PSG does continue to deteriorate, Barça will surely be waiting with open arms to bring back the forward.
