Kasper Schmeichel’s penalty heroics were not enough to save Denmark’s bacon as they took Croatia all the way in Nizhny Novgorod on Sunday night. After saving from Luka Modric in extra time, he could do nothing to stop Ivan Rakitic’s spot kick to win the tie in a shootout after saving a 1-1 draw.
