Cristiano Ronaldo accused of rape

Kathryn Mayorga, 34, says that the Portuguese player raped her in Las Vegas in 2009, while he was a Real Madrid player. as reported on by German publication Der Spiegel.

The claim was allegedly settled when Ronaldo paid Mayorga $375,000 to buy her silence on the event.

However, her lawyer is questioning the legality of the out-of-court settlement, and has filed a civil complaint in Nevada.

According to Mayorga, Ronaldo raped her anally, before asking afterwards if she was in pain.

"By this time, he's (...) on his knees. He says the 99 percent thing." He insisted, Mayorga says, that he was a "good guy" except for the "one percent."

The claim filed by her lawyers relies in part on Ronaldo's own version of events. 

The player is quoted as saying: "She said stop or no several times. She said that she doesn't want to, but she has made herself available.

"Afterwards I apologized. But she never screamed."

According to Ronaldo, the sex was consensual, and he denies the accusations.
