Cristiano, Márquez and Cahill to make history if they score in Russia

Uwe Seeler, Pele and Miroslav Klose can claim to be the only players to have scored at least one goal in more than three World Cups. To prevent being dethroned, they would need Cristiano Ronaldo, Rafa Marquez and Tim Cahill to remain goalless in Russia.

The trio have managed to score in three World Cups so far. The Portuguese against Iran (2006), North Korea (2010) and Ghana (2010). Marquez against Argentina (2006), South Africa (2010) and Croatia (2014), whilst the Australian has scored five goals, two against Japan (2006), one against Serbia (2010) and another two against Chile and the Netherlands (2014).

Ronaldo's Portugal will face Spain, Morocco and Iran in Group B, whilst the Mexican national team will face Germany, Sweden and South Korea in Group F, leaving Cahill and the 'Socceroos' to take on France, Denmark and Peru in Group C.
