Barcelona managed to turn things around in their trip to Elche in La Liga. The Catalans, despite dominating, conceded first after a terrible mistake by Pedri. In the second half, they drew level thanks to a clever goal by Ferran Torres. Then, Memphis Depay made it 1-2.
The Dutchman got his goal from the penalty spot and he himself earned the spot kick. With less than 10 minutes left of normal time, he got into the Elche box and forced Barragan to go and cover him. The ball, after going up in the air, struck the arm of Barragan.
The VAR told the referee and he went to the touchline to review the incident. The referee deemed Barragan to have moved his arm and knocked the ball away with his elbow and so he pointed to the spot.
Memphis Depay took the spot kick and he did not disappoint. He kept his compisure and he hit a superb right footed penalty into the top corner.
