Club thanks player's girlfriend for her "sacrifices"

Clough signed for Forest from Bolton Wanderers in January and helped his new club avoid relegation on goal difference on the final day of the season.

As players return for pre-season the club made sure it acknowledged the contributions made by the players' partners last season sending them each a bouquet of flowers and a letter.

The letter read: "This is simply a small token of out very sincere appreciation for the understanding and support you show your partner throughout what is a very demanding football season. We ask so much from our players, it is a prereequisite for a successful club, but we are very much aware of the demands this in turn puts on the individual families, We want you to know that we recognise the sacrifices that you make and that we greatly appreciate all of your help and support."

Upon receiving the surprise gift Pickles took to twitter to express her delight.
