City's astronomical treble payday

As if Man City were short of cash anyway. Now they are literally football's golden boys, after winning the Premier League, FA Cup and Champions League in the same season. The sums they are dealing with a mind-blowing and with good reason.

According to 'The Sun' on Tuesday, the Cityzens have earned themselves a bonus of £335 million, or thereabouts. Let's break down where that money has come from.

The club have earned themselves £164 million for their fifth Premier League title of the last six seasons, and they take £117.2 million with their UCL trophy. A slightly less impressive £3.9 million comes from the FA Cup, which they won against local rivals Man United.

At the start of the 2023-24 season, they will have the option to bag another two titles: they play Arsenal for the Community Shield at Wembley, and will face off against Sevilla for the European Super Cup in Greece. They will also play for the first time in the Club World Cup, which would bring in around another £50 million.

That brings our total to the £335 million mark. However, it should not be forgotten that City are facing 115 allegations of 'Financial Fair Play' infractions. All this fortune will help to build the City squad that will strive to repeat the unbelievable and add to their legacy next season.
