City’s parent group buys Brazilian club EC Bahia for £158m

Manchester City extends their global presence through the City Football Group. Spain, Italy, France, Belgium, India, Bolivia, Uruguay... To the sum of countries we have to add Brazil because of EC Bahia.
It is now official that the Cityzens parent club owns 90% of the shares of the South American club, 17th in the league with three points from three games played in the 1-0 win over Vasco da Gama.
City Football Group - excluding Manchester City - includes 12 clubs around the world: Girona, Palermo, Belgian Lommel SK, Mumbai City, Troyes, New York City, Chinese Sichuan Jiuniu, Melbourne City, Yokohama F. Marinos, Montevideo City Torque, Club Bolivar and the aforementioned Bahia.
CEO Ferran Soriano praised the takeover of Bahia: "We are now 13 clubs. They all have a history, they all have their value. Bahia is exceptional because of their size and their fans. It will be the second biggest club in the City Football Group.
