Christensen to miss 'El Clasico' due to injury during international break

Barcelona centre-back Andreas Christensen will miss Denmark's next match against Kazakhstan on Sunday after picking up a muscle problem against Finland on Thursday.

"He felt something in his calf. That's all I know," Danish coach Kasper Hjulmand told the press conference after the Euro 2024 qualifier, which ended in a 3-1 win for Denmark.

According to 'AS', the first scans he underwent after the collision indicate that he suffers a tear in his left calf. The estimated time out would be between three and four weeks, so he would not make it to 'El Clasico' in the Copa del Rey.

Christensen left the pitch at Copenhagen's Parken in the 18th minute after being treated by the medical staff for what appeared to be a muscular problem, which caused him to retire with a marked limp.

The Denmark '6' has had several muscle injuries since joining Barcelona from Chelsea this season. Christensen, who is one of the key men in the Danish national team, has also become an undisputed starter in the team coached by Xavi Hernandez.
