This Tuesday, Gerard Martino was questioned on the absence of Chicharito Hernandez from his squad. He answered that the LA Galaxy striker "is not here because I sort out the shifts", in other words, "he hasn't been picked".
"Javier Hernandez is not here because the coach hasn't picked him in the last three years", said the Argentine, who faced the media in a press conference after it had been announced that the Mexico national team will play four matches in the USA this summer.
"I've got nothing to share with this media. Everything that happens in the national team is dealt with in the national team", he concluded in a matter of fact manner.
Chicharito has not been a part of the 'Tri' since 2019 and he continues to be left out despite shining in the MLS in the last year with his performances for LA Galaxy.
The Mexican forward, ex Manchester United, Real Madrid and Sevilla player, lit up the new MLS season with five goals in six games. His last of which was in the derby against Loas Angeles FC.
This summer, the Mexico national team will play four friendly matches in preparation for the Qatar World Cup. They will play these matches in Dallas, Phoenix, Chicago y Atlanta, between 28th May and 31st August.
They will face Nigeria in Dallas, Uruguay in Phoenix, Ecuador in Chicago and Paraguay in Atalanta.
