Chelsea are looking to bounce back after their dismal season, which saw them finish in their worst position since 1996. The club are having a fire sale on their 30-man squad to bring down their huge wage bill, but they also need to think about how their squad is reshaping for next season.
With new incoming manager Mauricio Pochettino needing a plan for the next campaign, take a look at who the Blues are eyeing up for a transfer this summer.
Chelsea have already made two bids for the Brighton midfielder, the second clocking in around £80 million. The Blues are looking to reinforce after the exit of Mateo Kovacic, and likely departure of Mason Mount.
Caicedo shone for the Seagulls, who will feature in Europe for the first time in their history, undoubtedly in part thanks to the Ecuadorian. He would provide a young, robust addition to Pochettino's midfield, after being largely injury-free since his arrival in the Premier League.
He would be a player for the future for Chelsea at just 21 years old, and would unleash fellow young midfield star Enzo Fernandez, who would be able to play in a more advanced midfield role alongside Caicedo who would drop back defensively.
Chelsea have let keeper Edouard Mendy leave for Saudi Arabian side, Al Ahli, and are left with Kepa Arrizabalaga, who they would also be happy to offload according to reports. Martinez had a stellar season with Aston Villa, who qualified for Europa Conference League games this season.
Martinez is also of course a World Cup winner, and received the Golden Glove award in Qatar, making him a reliable signing, even at his 30 years of age. The Argentinian has said openly that he would be up for a "challenge", and Chelsea could provide the perfect opportunity for him.
Martinez featured 36 times for Villa in the Premier League last season, helping Unai Emery's side keep 11 clean sheets.
The Monaco centre-back has turned heads after his stellar season in Ligue 1. The 25-year-old scored six goals and made four assists in 50 appearances. He also made three appearances for France at the 2022 World Cup.
There is plenty of interest from around Europe and the Premier League, but the Blues look likely to face the departure of veteran defender Cesar Azpilicueta, and may be looking for a young replacement for the Spaniard.
He would put the London side out €40 million, but they face competition from Man United, who are also eyeing the Frenchman for their own back line.
