Chelsea's Mykhailo Mudryk scores after 153 days

Ukraine is back to winning ways in the Nations League. After back-to-back losses, Serhiy Rebrov's men finally tasted victory as they edged past Georgia thanks to Mudryk, who scored the only goal of the clash. 

The goal marked the end of a long period of goal-draught for the Chelsea forward. It had been 153 days, 5 months and 21 matches since he last scored for his national team. It was light at the end of a long tunnel for one of football's most expensive signings.

It was Kochorashvili's costly error, which gifted Mykhailo Mudryk the goal. The Ukrainian was able to take full advantage of the lost ball from the Georgian defender as he nestled the ball past goalkeeper Mamardashvili, with a low ball in the right-hand corner. 

His last goal for the Ukraine national team was in March 2024, six months ago. The start of the 2024/2025 season has not brilliant either for Mudryk, who continues to struggle at the Bridge. He has not been awarded many opportunities by Maresca, as he was only given 425 minutes this season, with 2 assists to his same thus far.
