It has only taken one season and the start of the next for Chelsea to take notice of the great work of Denzel Dumfries at Inter Milan. The possible transfer deal did not take long to become complicated, as the Italian press revealed that the 'Nerazzurri' would only let him leave for around 50 million euros, which, according to 'Corriere dello Sport', would not be a problem for the Blues.
The newspaper reports that the Stamford Bridge offices are willing to put that amount on the table. Their plan is to do so this winter, when the transfer window reopens. Even so, the idea is that he will remain on loan in Serie A, where he is offering a top level performance, until June 2023.
The latter is curious because, after the change in the dugout from Thomas Tuchel to Graham Potter, it seemed that the new ownership of the club intended to reinforce its squad as soon as possible, a situation in which the arrival of the Dutchman in January would fit in.
For the moment, Dumfries is delighted with his day-to-day life at Inter, where he is a regular starter. He told 'De Telegraaf', one of the most established sports media in the Netherlands, that he is delighted at the Giuseppe Meazza and that he is aware that he has several clubs interested in him. Will Chelsea convince him?
