Chelsea open to Disasi departure as defender set to miss squad selection

Axel Disasi is likely to be left out of Chelsea's squad for their upcoming match, signalling a potential January exit for the French defender. The 26-year-old, who joined Chelsea in 2023 for £38.8 million, has struggled to secure a regular starting position under manager Enzo Maresca.

Chelsea are reportedly open to Disasi's departure following discussions with the player. Several prominent clubs are already in talks to explore a January move for the versatile defender. Disasi has made only five Premier League appearances this season, with his last outing resulting in a disappointing 2-0 defeat to Ipswich Town. 

Despite earlier reports suggesting Chelsea were not actively seeking to sell Disasi, the club's stance appears to have shifted. The potential sale could pave the way for Chelsea to pursue other defensive targets, with Crystal Palace's Marc Guehi mentioned as a possible replacement. 

As the January transfer window progresses, Disasi's situation at Stamford Bridge remains fluid, with his future likely to be resolved in the coming weeks.
