Enzo Maresca has called up 22 players for the clash against Panathinaikos in the UEFA Conference League on Thursday. The Chelsea boss has left out various star players, as he continues to juggle the minutes of his star-packed squad.

Enzo Maresca never fails to surprise with his selections for Chelsea, as the Italian international continues to manage his stacked roster. Chelsea's star-packed squad has already forced Maresca to rule out the likes of Palmer, Fofana and Lavia from the Conference League entirely, as the trio were not included in the shortlist.

Nevertheless, that did not seem to shake the Blues, who sealed the win against KAA Gent in matchday one with several star players left to watch the match play out from the bench. Colwill, Cucurella, Fernandez, Caicedo and Madueke did not feature in their sides 4-2 at Stamford Bridge.

Maresca will seemingly apply the same strategy as the Blue travel to Athens to face Panathinaikos in the Conference League on Thursday. The club have announced their 22-man squad for the clash on Wednesday, as the Levi Colwill, Reece James, Malo Gusto, Moises Caicedo, Nicolas Jackson have all been left out from the list.

Chelsea will aim to get back to winning ways following their defeat against Liverpool on Sunday. The Blues have the opportunity to make it two wins from two games in the tournament at Athens, before their crucial game against Newcastle in the Premier League on Sunday.
