Celtic offered £5m by Lille for defender Jozo Simunovic

French Ligue 1 team Lille narrowly escaped relegation at the end of this season, but are now looking to rebuild their squad for the future.

According to the 'Daily Mail', Simunovic could be at the top of the list for potential new players on the radar of coach Christophe Galtier.

The Bosnian defender signed for Celtic in 2015 at a £2.8million fee, and after re-signing last year, he will remain under contract until 2021.

Simunovic has struggled to hold down a place in the first team, and came close to leaving the club a couple of years ago.

Celtic boss Rodgers could be on the verge of losing another experienced defender, as Dedryck Boyata hasn't signed a new contract yet, and seems somewhat reluctant.
