Spaniard Carlos Corberan has renewed his contract with West Bromwich Albion until the end of the 2026-27 season and has thus distanced himself from rumours linking him with Leeds United.
The 39-year-old Corberan was one of the candidates for the Leeds' bench given his success with Huddersfield Town and West Bromwich, as well as his experience at Elland Road, where he was assistant to Marcelo Bielsa.
After a spell at Leeds, Corberan led Huddersfield to the play-off final for promotion to the Premier League and this year has West Bromwich in contention for promotion. He also spent a few months at Olympiakos, but only eleven games in charge.
Since his arrival at West Brom, Corberan has managed 16 games and won 11, earning him a contract renewal until the end of the 2026-27 season.
"I am sure this is the right place for me. I am really enjoying my time here and I am very happy to have been able to renew," Corberan said in a statement.
