Manchester United already know that they will not play in the Champions League next season. The UCL will have to wait because it was not a good year and the Red Devils were left without chances to compete in the top continental competition.
Many have put the spotlight on Cristiano Ronaldo, but Evra does not understand so much criticism of his former team-mate. "Can we leave Cristiano alone? He scored 18 goals in the PL - where would we be if he wasn't in the team? When people talk about him, I think: 'They're not at peace with themselves or they're jealous,'" he told the 'Mirror'.
And he wanted to make it clear that he is not defending him because of the good relationship he has with him: "Put Cristiano at City, Liverpool or Chelsea. He will do well. Now put Salah at United, for example, and he will struggle like everyone else. They say it's because he's my friend, but no: I'm in love with the way he works, how professional he is."
"Cristiano is 37 years old. He'll be 40 and he'll keep scoring goals. That's what he's here for and that's what people want from him," said Evra, who has faith in the Portuguese.
