All Liverpool fans have fond memories of 'that' night in Istanbul in 2005. 3-0 down at half-time, they fought back to draw 3-3 and eventually won the most coveted prize in club football on penalties.
Many fans on Merseyside will be thinking this is their year to emulate that mammoth feat. Thanks to their unstoppable attacking trident of Sadio Mane, Roberto Firmino and Mo Salah, Liverpool set a new record in the competition this year - the most goals scored by an English side (33). And they're not finished yet...
In fact, Roberto Firmino alone set a new club record with his nine goals in the Champions League this season. The Brazilian has been in flying form and, just like his 'Egyptian King' team-mate, shows no signs of slowing down.
Whilst Liverpool's attacking prowess is doubted by nobody, their defence is also formidable. After the addition of Virgil Van Dijk, the Reds' back four has looked assured, rigid and most of all, confident.
That said, it took Gabriel Jesus just 117 seconds to find the net on Tuesday night. Whoever Liverpool's semi-final opponent may be, they'll need to be clinical and make the most of split seconds of vulnerability like Jesus managed to do.
Jesus and his City team-mates would not be gifted another chance. Van Dijk and Dejan Lovren stood tall to quell any dangerous City attacks in what was a highly effective performance.
In that quarter-final, Jurgen Klopp showed that, with the right tactics, you can beat anyone in football. Even if they're still one of the underdogs to lift the trophy, it's highly unlikely whoever draws Liverpool in the semi-final will have a smile on their face.
