Campbell says 'everyone is confident we can stay up' at Stoke

Campbell is the son of former Arsenal striker Kevin Campbell, and made his debut for the first squad from the bench at home against Tottenham where the hosts were defeated 2-1 on Saturday.

Th 18-year-old said: ''I just want to help the team stay up, do the best I can and hopefully score some goals to do that.''

He added: ''Obviously you watch it on TV and you think 'Oh yes, I can do that, I can run him, I can take him on' but it's completely different when you get there. It's a good learning curve, one I'm relishing and hoping to get more of.''

Stoke occupy 19th position in the Premier League with five games remaining, but Campbell is assured that the squad can avoid relegation.

He said: ''Everyone is confident we can stay up. Look at the quality we have, so yes, everyone is confident. We don't look like a team battling relegation, but a comfortable mid-table team.''
