The summer market has plenty of drama to give us still. On Friday morning, it was reported that Liverpool had reached an agreeement with Brighton to hijack Chelsea's attempt for midfielder Moises Caicedo, beating the Blues' offer by just £10 million.
The package, worth in total £110 million, was to be a Premier League record-fee and it was even confirmed in a press conference by Reds manager Jurgen Klopp - but fate had other plans. And by fate, we mean Caicedo himself.
Just hours after the news, it was reported that the Ecuadorian was having second thoughts about the move to Anfield, and despite a medical booked, the Blues didn't want to give up.
Now, according to journalist and transfer specialist Fabrizio Romano, the 21-year-old has informed Liverpool that he has no intention of joining the club - he only wants to join Chelsea.
The Blues, equally keen on the youngster, will reportedly bid again to get the deal finished with the Seagulls.
