Busquets extremely down after being knocked out

Barcelona lost right at the death at San Mames and they were knocked out of the cup by Athletic Bilbao in the quarter-finals of the Copa del Rey after a late goal by Inaki Williams. 

After the painful defeat, Sergio Busquets who started on Thursday, analysed Barca's game and stressed that the team deserved to win. 

"It has been fateful because of everything that has happened. This is football. A cross goes in at the far post and despite the good game we had, we are out," he told 'DAZN'. 

The midfielder highlighted Barcelona's play against Athletic Bilbao's high line, something the whole team were expecting from the off. 

"They were pressing, but we knew that if we got out of the pressure, we would have space. We had possession, we had opportunities to score the goal, but it wasn't to be," he explained. 

Lastly, Busquets wanted to send a message to the fans and wanted to make clear that the team must move on as soon as possible. 

"It's a sad day for everyone, we didn't want to get knocked out. We have two competitions left, this doesn't stop. We have a very difficult game on Sunday. We are all angry, but we did things well. We had chances," he concluded.
