Burnley announced that the midfielder would part ways with the club at the end of the season, and it now appears that Arfield will move to the Scottish Premiership when his contract is over in the summer.
Sean Dyche, The 'Clarets' manager, said: ''Rangers asked us about Scotty Arfield and what his position was. Scotty was a boyhood Rangers fan and that one's pretty simple in its form if they want to speak to him.''
In their Premier League campaign this season, Arfield has scored twice from 19 appearances. The 29-year-old joined back in 2013 from Huddersfield and represents Canada at international level.
Joining him on the exit list is Dean Marney, who will also bid farewell to Burnley. He has not featured in a match since sustaining cruciate knee ligament damage back in January 2017.
