According to 'Sky Sports' sources, Premier League strugglers Burnley are looking to add more fire power to their squad by making a move for West Brom striker Jay Rodriguez in January.
Burnley made a number of offers for their former player during the summer, but the 'Baggies' asking price for the player was considered too high.
It was thought that Albion were asking for upwards of £18 million for Rodriguez, while Burnley were not prepared to part with more than £16 million.
The 'Clarets' were said to be inquring about the possibility of a double deal for Rodriguez and defender Craig Dawson, but they soon cooled their interest in that approach after Ben Gibson signed from Middlesbrough.
Burnely boss Sean Dyche is said to want at a striker and a winger in the upcoming transfer window, but would be ahppy if the club signed a player that could fulfill both roles.
Main target Jay Rodriguez woudl certainly fit that demographic, having played off the centre during his time with Southampton and now with his current side West Brom.
The forward has scored 8 league goals for the 'Baggies' so far this term, meaning that they are unlikely to let him go too easily, as they face a tough task to earn promotion at the end of the current campaign.
