Before the Bundesliga returned, there were four Bundesliga 2 matches this Saturday.
There were plenty of goals in them. Strict social distancing was observed on the benches and the balls were disinfected. People were wearing masks and there were many changes.
Three of the four matches were won by the home team. Bochum beat promotion hopefuls Heidenheim 3-0 and Erzgebirge Aue claimed a 3-1 victory over Sandhausen.
Karlsruher won 2-0 against Darmstadt which gave the hosts a much needed three points as they climbed out of the relegation zone (at least for now). Darmstadt drop to eighth.
Jahn Regensburg v Holstein Kiel was the only draw, but it looked for all money as if Kiel would win. They were 0-2 up with 15 minutes to go, but then Ratisbona's men scored twice, the second a 92nd minute penalty, to salvage a draw.
The rest was as expected. Masks for those on the bench, contact was kept to a minimum, the balls were disinfected, each player had their own bottle and there was no-one in the stands. This will be the case for some time to come.
