Gianluigi Buffon will leave Juventus at the end of the season but he has received offers to continue playing elsewhere, club president Andrea Agnelli has confirmed.
Buffon called a press conference on Thursday morning, where it was widely expected he would announce his retirement.
In a tearful statement, the goalkeeper thanked the club and everyone associated for the time he has had in Turin, but he did not formally announce the end of his playing career.
"What we know is that next season our goalkeeper will be Szczesny," said Andrea Agnelli, the president of Juventus.
Buffon meanwhile, was thinking short term: "What will I do? For now I only know that I have a game to play on Saturday."
Buffon added that he has received offers from elsewhere and will sit down and think about his future once the season is over.
