It wasn't plain sailing for Buffon or PSG in the Ligue 1 champions' first pre-season outing, and the goalkeeper's presence in the starting XI wasn't the only reason that he made the headlines in relation to the game.

Five minutes into his debut, the veteran goalkeeper gave away a penalty, which Chambly's Soubervie didn't hesitate to convert at Buffon's expense.
Things got even worse for the Italian as well, when his error led to Doucoure doubling the deficit for the Parisians, making it 0-2 to Chambly.
PSG managed to pull two goals back through Colin Dagba and Virgiliu Postolachi, but it ended in embarassment as they conceded another two goals without Buffon on the pitch, the game ending in a comprehensive 2-4 defeat.
At the end of the day you can never place too much importance on pre-season games, but Chambly are a third division team, and Thomas Tuchel would have liked for his reign to begin in a more comfortable fashion.
So too would Buffon, whose debut couldn't have gone much worse. Alphonse Areloa will be struggling to hide a smile tonight...
