Chelsea have seen a second offer for Brighton's Moises Caicedo turned down by the Seagulls. The improved bid, believed to be £70 million, was submitted on Monday and quickly rejected, following their initial offer of £60 million.
De Zerbi's side are reportedly looking for a fee closer to Declan Rice's recent move to Arsenal, which saw West Ham get £100 million. However, the Blues do not know whether they will offer such an amount.
However, Brighton boss Roberto De Zerbi told the press conference ahead of the friendly against Chelsea in the United States that they are not ruling out a swap deal with Levi Colwill.
"There are two questions. Not only about Caicedo, also about Colwill, and maybe it can be [a swap]. I would like to play with Caicedo and Colwill together but at the moment I can only speak about Caicedo as Colwill is not one of my players," he said.
"We need to wait and see what happens with Caicedo. Then we know what we need to do. I've not spoken with him yet, but of course I'd like him to stay," he added.
"If he does leave, we need to buy another great player with the same characteristics and qualities. They are difficult to find. He's here, he's trained three days. But he needs time to condition. Right now, there is a possibility he can leave this window:"
