Barcelona were at their best in their first game without Messi at the Camp Nou. Pique opened the scoring against Real Sociedad and then, Braithwaite made it two after a quick move from right to left.
Good Barca pressure in the first half paid off and Eric Garcia won the ball off Januzaj, who wanted a foul. Frenkie de Jong received the ball, who took the ball a few metres towards goal and he delivered a fantastic cross to the far post.
From there, Braithwaite headed into the back of the net coming from behind and catching out the Sociedad defence. The Dutchman's cross made the goal and the Danish striker made no mistake in front of Remiro.
However, there was controversy as Eric Garcia had grabbed Januzaj from behind as the Sociedad man tried to control the ball. The referee and the VAR gave nothing though.
