The former Manchester City defender was understood to be unsettled at Celtic Park this summer, even refusing to play for the club to try and force a move away from the Glasgow giants, who rejected a number of offers for the 27-year-old.
With Boyata's relationship with Brendan Rodgers looking strained, it looked like the centre-back was set to leave the club. However he drew a line under the events and returned to the team, scoring on his first game back, against Hibernian.
Now on international duty with his country, Boyata says the debacle is water under the bridge, but did not want to open up on it.
"Right now I'm in a position where I'm not supposed to say anything about what happened in the past," he said in quotes appearing on 'Sky Sports'.
"But I am fully committed with the team and I'm trying to give as much as I can whenever I'm on the pitch. I'm a Celtic player and I'm very happy to be a Celtic player. Whatever happens next, happens next.
"What happened in the past is in the past and I'm looking forward to getting back to where we were the last three seasons.
"I'm working hard for it and hopefully we'll get back where we're supposed to be."
