"Both defending and attacking is a collective thing"

Real Madrid's Lucas Vazquez assured, after his team's defeat against Milan (1-3), the second in a row after the 0-4 drubbing suffered in the 'Clasico' against FC Barcelona, that they are “at a time when the rivals” are “punishing them quite a lot” defensively.

“It was a complicated game in which they put us ahead, we equalised quickly and before halftime they scored that goal, when we were having the game more under control. We tried to turn it around and in a counter attack they scored 1-3. We are in a moment in which the rivals are punishing us a lot. We have to keep working so that it doesn't happen again”, he commented on ‘Movistar Liga de Campeones’.

A punishment when it comes to conceding goals that translates into 9 goals conceded in the last 3 matches. “It's a very bad figure. Both defending and attacking is a collective thing. That's what we have to emphasize. We will get out of this together. We have to raise our heads and keep working because this is very long. Madrid will fight until the end,” he said.

Finally, he spoke of the importance of the next 2 matches, the visits to Liverpool and Atalanta. “In the Champions League you always play against the best and every game is going to be a final, because we want to win everything we have left in this group,” he concluded.
