Chelsea have been the lowest-profile of the group leaders at this stage. Graham Potter's side have been at a high level, especially since the arrival of the former Brighton boss.
Potter's arrival has been a key factor. The coach has put Kepa back in goal and, all of a sudden, the Blues defence has improved. The Spaniard, with his sights set on Qatar, has raised his level compared to previous seasons. Up front, there is no clear goal scorer, but the arrival of Sterling has combined well with Mount, Havertz or Connor Gallagher, who this season is already established in the first team.
In the group stage they had a poor start, with one point out of a possible six. The double-header against Milan gave them reason to dream not only of qualification, but also of first place. There was no room for surprise and the team confirmed its credentials with a great defence (only 4 goals conceded) and a dynamic attack without a clear benchmark.
The post-Haaland Borussia Dortmund is still as dangerous as last year's Borussia Dortmund with the Norwegian. Without the '9', it is the young Youssoufa Moukoko who has replaced the now Manchester City player.
It was the Germans themselves who played and finished behind the British team. In the group stage, Jude Bellingham excelled, ready to take the next step. Despite being a midfielder, he has already scored nine goals in all competitions this season.
Only title-contenders Manchester City have been able to beat Borussia Dortmund, who have been getting better and better this season. Edin Terzic's side have gone from strength to strength, a dangerous opponent to face in the knockout stages.
