The Holland U21 international has been heavily linked with a temporary move to the Riverside Stadium after the Championship leaders missed out on the signing of Everton winger Yannick Bolasie.
Boro boss Tony Pulis is known to be keen to add wingers with pace to his squad after losing Adama Traroe to Wolves and was hoping for a reunion with Bolasie, having worked with him during his time at Crystal Palace.
However, the DR Congo international opted for a move to Aston Villa, causing Boro to look elsewhere.
Van La Parra had been seen as an excellent option, having featured regularly as Huddersfield both gained promotion and retained their Premier League status.
The addition of several wingers over the course of the summer looked to have pushed the 27-year-old down the pecking order at the John Smith's Stadium, however, his inclusion against Cardiff suggests he will be going nowhere ahead of next week's loan deadline.
The winger was included in the starting lineup for the relegation six-pointer, with fellow winger Ramadan Sobhi missing the game due to a knock.
