Promes was at the heard of Sevilla's defence as they nearly secured a massive victory away in Valencia. Despite Promes' best efforts they conceded in the 92nd minute.

Defender: Mouctar Diakhaby (Valencia)

Diakhaby scored Valencia's dramatic 92nd minute equaliser against Sevilla at the Mestalla.

Defender: Sidnei (Betis)

Sidney scored and play a huge role in Betis' convincing 2-0 win at home to Rayo Vallecano.

Defender: José Ángel 'Cote' (Eibar)

At 4-4, it may seem strange to have a defender in our Team of the Week, however 'Cote' played a vital role in setting up two of Eibar's goals against Levante.

Midfielder: José Luis Morales (Levante)

Morales scored Levante's first against Eibar and played a helping hand in their third goal.

Midfielder: Toni Villa (Valladolid)

A rate win for Valladolid - they beat Sociedad 1-2 away from home, with Villa starring for the visitors.

Midfielder: Brais Méndez (Celta)

Méndez scored and assisted as Celta won 3-2 away at Villarreal.

Forward: Carlos Bacca (Villarreal)

Despite losing to Celta, Bacca's brace nearly secured his side a point.

Forward: Sergi Enrich (Eibar)

Enrich managed to score and play a huge part in two of Eibar's four goals as they drew 4-4 at home to Levante.

Forward: Lionel Messi

Barcelona ran riot in the Catalan Derby with Lionel Messi scoring twice for the visitors. A stellar performance from apparently the fifth best player in the world.
